Sonnetek is a division of MMITEK Group. MMI has been in the business of designing, producing and selling solar panels, computer hardware and electronic products for large corporations since 1978. Our first factory was based in Taoyuan, Taiwan, in a small shop that primarily created tools to be used for stamping sheet metal. In 1981, due to MMI's popularity in the industry, MMI purchased a 288,000ft2 factory nearby to provide room for its growing business. In 1993, MMI's business had yet again outgrown its factory. However, due to increasing costs pressures from the market, MMI decided to open its new factory in ShenZhen, China. To support MMI's factories and to grow its channel market in the United States, MMI opened a warehouse and sales office in City of Industry, CA, in 1990. MMI quickly outgrew its humble beginnings in the United States and expanded into a 70,000ft2 facility in City of Industry. City of Industry is the heart of the computer hardware and electronic product industry in the United States and is convenient to all modes of transportation - ocean, trucking and rail.
Due to Solar panels and electronic business has continued to grow ,needed an avenue to support that growth. In addition, Sonnetek needed a means to better reach its customers and provide them with more solutions. Thus, in 2002, MMI opened SONNETEK DIVISION to sustain that growth and fulfill those needs. With regional distribution centers, an advanced e-commerce web site and a diverse line of products.
